Bishop Wayman Jose Kirkman, Sr. was born on June 1, 1960, The eldest of five children to Ms. Annie L. Morrisey and Charlie Cleveland Kirkman. He graduated from Terry Sanford High School in June, 1978. After completing high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1978 and served faithfully until 1985. 
 

Bishop Kirkman met the love of his life, Sandra Brown, in San Antonio, TX. While on active duty in Colorado Springs, Colorado, they were married. From this union have come three lovely children, Demetria (DeeDee), Wayman, Jr.,  Angel, and six precious grandchildren.
