OUR BISHOP
Bishop Wayman Jose Kirkman, Sr. was born on June 1, 1960, The eldest of five children to Ms. Annie L. Morrisey and Charlie Cleveland Kirkman. He graduated from Terry Sanford High School in June, 1978. After completing high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1978 and served faithfully until 1985.
Bishop Kirkman met the love of his life, Sandra Brown, in San Antonio, TX. While on active duty in Colorado Springs, Colorado, they were married. From this union have come three lovely children, Demetria (DeeDee), Wayman, Jr., Angel, and four precious grandsons, Amare Joseph Jones, Jason Darrell Kirkman, Wayman Jose Kirkman III, and Avery Kendall Jones.
God had an early calling on the life of Bishop Kirkman. He submitted to the call on active duty in Colorado Springs. It was there that his ministry began under the leadership of Pastor James McMearn.
Bishop Kirkman and his family returned to Fayetteville, NC in 1984. Upon his return to NC, he joined Lewis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, where Dr. John D. Fuller pastored. As one of the associate ministers. He was ordained in 1985 by the Union Baptist Association. He is the former pastor of Unionville Missionary Baptist Church, Second New Light Missionary Baptist Church and the founder of Hope Christian Churches.
God began to reveal to Bishop Kirkman the next call for his life, into the office of bishop after celebrating 25 years in the ministry. Bishop Kirkman was consecrated on June 1, 2008 by Chief Presiding Bishop John W. Scott Jr. of the Gospel of Jesus Christ Deliverance Crusade, Inc., in Folkstown, GA. In 2008 Bishop Kirkman became a part of the International Pentecostal Holiness Churches and in 2011 he was officially welcome to be a part of The Joint College of African-American Pentecostal Bishops. Bishop is also a certiefied Church Planter Trainer of Dynamic Church Planting International. In 2013 Bishop Kirkman received Apostolic Succession from Presiding Bishop H. Eugene Bellinger of Cathedral of Covenant Fellowship Ministries in Columbus, Ohio. Bishop has been a part are helped started 12 churches. Bishop Kirkman is the presiding bishop of Hope Fellowship International, where he oversees seven active churches and Bible studies in two different states. He is actively working to start five more churches to fulfill God's plan for his life. Bishop Kirkman will celebrate 34 years of ministry on June 1, 2015. Bishop Kirkman is also a author of "Do you feel me NOW" and "The ABC's to church planting". The first book deals with rejection, depression and abuse. The purpose of this work is to connect the pulpit to the pew so those who are seeking guidance from the Church feel that leadership really understands and can assist in their healing process. The second book is a manual workbook on how to start a church.

Hope Fellowship International is blessed because of the vision God has charged to Bishop Kirkman concerning ministry. Neighborhood and community projects such as H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Endure), will provide shelter for men, women, children, and the aging. Many long-term goals are projected for this body of Christ to grow spiritually, financially, and materially under the leadership of Bishop Kirkman.
Bishop Kirkman is anointed to preach the Word of God and teaches how to apply the Word of God in every situation in life. His series in leadership, finances, and personal development have shown that acts of faith will prove God's Word is true.
